‘American Horror Story’ Season 13 Premieres Tonight with Returning Stars
The FX anthology series kicks off its 13th season with a special premiere event featuring a dozen actors reprising past roles.
The 13th season of “American Horror Story,” subtitled “13,” premieres tonight, September 24, on FX, featuring a reunion of more than a dozen actors from the series’ previous seasons.
Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson, both returning for their tenth season of “AHS,” are among the many cast members reprising fan-favorite roles. Jessica Lange also returns to the series for the first time since 2018, stepping back into four of her past characters.
Creator Ryan Murphy, who directs the season premiere, described the new season as a tribute to all previous seasons. "This season is a tribute to all of the seasons, which we’ll never do again,” Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter.
“American Horror Story: 13” will debut with three episodes airing back-to-back tonight, September 24, at 9 p.m. ET. New episodes will also be available to stream on Hulu concurrently with their FX broadcast.
For viewers without cable, the season premiere can be streamed for free via a five-day trial of DIRECTV, which includes FX in its programming. A Hulu subscription, starting at $11.99 per month, also offers access to new episodes.
The season's cast includes actors reprising multiple roles. Sarah Paulson will portray Cordelia Goode from “Coven” and “Apocalypse,” Sally McKenna from “Hotel,” Ms. Wilhemina Venable from “Apocalypse,” Karen from “Red Tide,” and Mamie Eisnehowser from “Death Valley.”
Evan Peters is set to reprise his roles as Tate Langdon from “Murder House,” James Patrick March from “Hotel,” and Kai Anderson from “Cult.” Jessica Lange will return as Constance Langdon from “Murder House” and “Apocalypse,” Sister Jude Martin from “Asylum,” Fiona Goode from “Coven,” and Elsa Mars from “Freak Show.”
Additional returning cast members include Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, and Leslie Grossman. Newcomers to the “AHS” universe include Paul Anthony Kelly, Alex Consani, Avantika, Madelaine Petsch, John Waters, and Joey Pollari.
The season is structured to release new episodes weekly, with the first three episodes airing on September 24. Subsequent episodes are scheduled for October 1, October 8, October 15, October 22, and the season finale on October 29.
