Amanda Seyfried Leaves Fans Baffled With Cryptic Red Carpet Remarks
The actress, who recently announced her separation from Thomas Sadoski, offered philosophical and seemingly disconnected thoughts during an interview.
Amanda Seyfried offered a peculiar and philosophical life update during a recent red carpet interview at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles, leaving fans and observers perplexed. The comments came just one month after the actress announced her separation and divorce from husband Thomas Sadoski.
When asked by The Hollywood Reporter how her life was going, Seyfried responded with a nervous laugh, "It's interesting." She agreed that interviews are difficult but added, "it's for a good reason." She elaborated on a belief that "everything that's happening is meant to happen, everything - everyone that's in your life is meant to be in your life." The actress then stated, "I get to go home tomorrow and I'm meant to be home and so on and so forth and then some."
When prompted about topics she enjoys discussing, Seyfried mentioned "the emus" and "Halloween," before adding, "you can engage with me if you want to talk about all things having to do with like apple pie and like olives and you know, like really good hard ciders."
Fans reacted to the interview online, with one commenter suggesting that everyone should discuss emus in future interviews, and another questioning if Seyfried was promoting a surprise movie. Some expressed concern, with one user writing, "I don't know what she's going through, but it's obviously something very heavy for her because she was on the verge of tears throughout that conversation."
Seyfried herself later acknowledged her rambling, joking in comments, "What AM I even saying?"
Despite her unusual remarks, Seyfried was dressed in a black strapless Prada gown complemented by diamond and emerald jewelry from Tiffany & Co. for the event.
Her appearance followed the joint statement released in September to People, announcing her split from Thomas Sadoski after nine years of marriage. "We have been separated for a while, and it's proven to be the right move for us and our family unit. We've got each other forever — and it's good," the statement read.
Seyfried and Sadoski met in 2015 while working on the off-Broadway play "The Way We Get By." They became engaged later that year and eloped in 2017. They share two children: daughter Nina, 9, and son Thomas, 5.
Seyfried, who resides on a farm in upstate New York, has previously spoken about cherishing her "alone time," which she often spends knitting or crocheting during train journeys or at home.
