All Elite Wrestling Star Pac Found Dead in Illinois

Benjamin Satterley, the professional wrestling star known as Pac in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and Adrian Neville in WWE, was found dead in Illinois on Sunday. Satterley, 40, was discovered hours after he had competed for the AEW National Championship at the All Out event. The Des Plaines Police Department reported that there were no indications of foul play and that the circumstances surrounding his death were not considered suspicious. The cause of death will be determined by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

AEW announced Satterley's death late Sunday, which sent shockwaves through the professional wrestling community. "All Elite Wrestling is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac," the company stated. "A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organizations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability."

AEW noted that Satterley signed with the company in 2019 and held multiple championships, competing in what they described as some of the most memorable matches in AEW history. "Our condolences go out to Satterley’s family, friends and fans," the statement concluded.

AEW owner Tony Khan also paid tribute to Satterley on X, writing, "Benjamin Satterley defined excellence, as a beloved husband & friend to his many loved ones, + in his wrestling knowledge, skill, unprecedented athleticism, professionalism, consistency + dedication to the sport that he loved & traveled the world to pursue. May Ben rest in peace."

According to reports citing 911 audio, Satterley was found "passed out" outside a CAVA restaurant around 4 p.m. local time. An official on the scene reportedly pronounced him dead upon arrival.

Satterley was among the initial group of wrestlers to sign with AEW in 2019. During his tenure with the promotion, he was a two-time Trios Champion and the inaugural holder of the All-Atlantic Championship.

Prior to his time in AEW, Satterley performed for WWE under the ring name Adrian Neville. With WWE, he held the Cruiserweight Championship twice, was an NXT Champion, and a two-time NXT Tag Team Champion.

Paul "Triple H" Levesque, WWE Chief Content Officer, also shared his condolences. "Saddened to hear about the death of Ben Satterley known in @WWE as Neville," Levesque posted on X. "I had the pleasure of working with Ben in the early days of @WWENXT. This moment, from NXT Arrival, marked the beginning of a new era for that brand and the men and women on it … and Ben was a major force behind that. He was an extraordinary talent and even kinder human being. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and fans across the world."
