Alessandra Ambrosio, 44, drew attention at the Venice Film Festival closing ceremony on Saturday, stepping onto the red carpet in a sweeping gold gown embellished with silver detailing.

The Brazilian model’s ensemble featured a plunging neckline and a dramatic feathered trail. She added height with silver strappy heels and completed the look with a statement necklace and diamond earrings, posing for photographers in high spirits among the festival arrivals.

Earlier in the afternoon Ambrosio arrived at the Lido by boat and smiled for cameras before the evening festivities. Other stars seen on the red carpet included Adele Exarchopoulos, Luna Wedler, Stephane Bak and Andreea Cristea, among a mix of actors, filmmakers and international guests marking the festival’s finale.

The closing ceremony capped a week of screenings, premieres and awards on Venice’s island venue. The festival’s top prize, the Golden Lion, was awarded to director Jim Jarmusch for his family drama "Father Mother Sister Brother," which emerged as a critical favorite during the run of the event.

Founded in 1932, the Venice Film Festival is the oldest film festival in the world and is held annually on the Lido. Its closing night traditionally combines a red-carpet showcase of talent and fashion with the presentation of major awards that can influence awards-season momentum for films and filmmakers.

Ambrosio, a longtime fixture in fashion and entertainment circles who rose to prominence as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, has made repeated appearances at international festivals and fashion events in recent years. Her choice of a heavily embellished, theatrical gown on Saturday followed a season in which many celebrities opted for dramatic eveningwear on European festival red carpets.

Organizers of the Venice Film Festival said the event concluded Saturday with the award presentations and a selection of final screenings. The festival will next convene for its annual edition on the Lido, where filmmakers, actors and industry professionals will gather again to debut new work and vie for the Golden Lion and other honors.
