Aimee Lou Wood Debuts New Bob While Filming Final 'Daddy Issues' Series
The 'Sex Education' star was spotted on set in Stockport with co-star Taj Atwal, sporting a fresh shorter haircut.
Aimee Lou Wood has debuted a new bob hairstyle while filming the final series of the comedy "Daddy Issues" in Stockport. The actress, 32, was seen on set on Wednesday, braving the autumn weather in a blue checked miniskirt, yellow T-shirt, and a brown leather jacket.
Wood, who previously sported longer locks, paired her outfit with suede cowboy boots and accessorized with chunky silver earrings and a burgundy handbag. She was photographed pushing a pram filled with groceries while engaging in animated conversation with co-star Taj Atwal, who plays Cherry in the series.
During filming, a cyclist passed closely by, prompting Wood to yell and Atwal to humorously throw vegetables at them. The pair were later seen in long black padded jackets, conversing with crew members.
"Daddy Issues" follows Gemma (Wood), whose life is upended by a vacation encounter that leaves her pregnant. She must navigate her pregnancy while supporting her father, Malcolm, whose marriage has collapsed. The upcoming series is expected to show Gemma settling into nursery life for her daughter Sadie 18 months after her birth, while also receiving a promotion at the salon. However, a new romantic encounter is set to disrupt the relative calm, forcing Gemma to rely on her father once again.
Wood recently garnered attention from fans who suggested she would be a suitable candidate for the role of the next Doctor in "Doctor Who." This speculation followed her appearance in a "Saturday Night Live UK" sketch that parodied the science fiction series. Her performance on "SNL UK" earned rave reviews, with viewers expressing on social media their desire to see her take on the iconic role or serve as a companion.
The BBC comedy "Daddy Issues" is slated for release in 2027 on BBC Three. Wood expressed her enthusiasm for returning to the show, stating, "I'm so happy to be back with David and the brilliant Daddy Issues cast for one final time. Gemma and Malcolm are one of the funniest comedy double acts."
