A24 Achieves Record Year with Top-Grossing Films
The independent studio has released four films into its all-time top ten this year, including the current North American box office sensation 'You Can See Everything.'

Independent studio A24 is experiencing its most successful year to date, with four of its films now ranking among the company's all-time highest grossers. This surge comes as A24 solidifies its position as a premier distributor in an industry marked by major studio mergers.
The studio's current documentary, 'You Can See Everything,' directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, has become a surprise box office hit, securing second place at the North American box office and is projected to surpass $100 million domestically. This marks a significant achievement for a documentary and a rare feat for an October release.
Another major success for A24 this year is 'Backrooms,' a feature debut by Kane Parsons, which became a summer blockbuster. The film, rooted in internet phenomenon and A24's horror genre origins, outgrossed several highly anticipated summer releases and is currently the studio's highest-grossing film domestically at $198 million. It is available for streaming on HBO Max.
Josh Safdie's 'Marty Supreme,' starring Timothée Chalamet, also contributed significantly to A24's banner year, earning $96 million domestically and positioning itself as a major holiday box office player. The film is noted for blending A24's distinctive style with mainstream appeal and is available on HBO Max.
Other notable films contributing to A24's record year include 'Civil War,' Alex Garland's dystopian drama, which grossed $69 million and had the second-biggest opening weekend for the studio. 'Everything Everywhere All at Once,' the 2022 multiversal dramedy, earned $77 million domestically and is credited with significantly boosting the studio's profile after its Best Picture Oscar win. It is available on Hulu.
The romantic drama 'The Drama,' starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, and the horror film 'Talk to Me' both grossed $48 million, while Greta Gerwig's early hit 'Lady Bird' (2017) has garnered $49 million. Adam Sandler's performance in the Safdie Brothers' 'Uncut Gems' (2019) brought in $50 million domestically.
Several films are also highlighted for their international performance or near-misses for the domestic top ten. 'Materialists' (2025) was A24's biggest worldwide grosser, exceeding $100 million globally, and 'The Invite' (2026) also performed well internationally, nearly breaking into the worldwide top ten.
'Primetime' (2026), a fictionalized account of Chris Hansen and 'To Catch a Predator' starring Robert Pattinson, has grossed $47 million domestically and is expected to be available on VOD and HBO Max in early 2027.
As of late October 2026, A24 has seen four films break into its all-time top ten, reasserting its influence in the film industry.
