Hawaii experienced severe flash floods and mudslides after Hurricane Lala passed by the Big Island over the weekend. The storm's heavy rains and winds were powerful enough to dislodge approximately 100 homes from their foundations on the Big Island, according to officials.
One fatality was reported in connection with a car accident. More than 200,000 households lost power due to the extreme weather conditions.
Tropical storm warnings remain in effect for some of the state's islands. Forecasters predict the storm will continue its westward progression over the next few days.
