A resident in Essex has voiced frustration with Anglian Water’s imposition of a hosepipe ban, questioning the restriction while a water leak in her neighborhood remains unfixed. Linda Kirby, who lives in Halstead, reported the leak in June on Church Lane in Braintree, where it has since formed a substantial puddle.
"Why are we paying all of this money when there is water being wasted down a drain?" Kirby asked, noting that the leak began as a small trickle and has progressively worsened. She stated that she passes the leak daily on her commute.
Anglian Water has stated that its teams are working diligently during the hot weather to prioritize repairs that have the most significant impact on customer water supplies. Residents living near the leak have also shared their disappointment with the water company’s response.
