Southern and eastern England are expected to experience the hottest weather of the week, with temperatures potentially reaching 34C (93.2F) in some areas, including London and the Home Counties. Monday is forecast to bring a surge of hot air from France ahead of an approaching Atlantic low-pressure system.
Much of the Midlands, East Anglia, and southern England will see temperatures around 30C (86F) or higher. Eastern parts of Wales are also anticipated to experience unusually hot conditions. These areas are under amber heat health alerts as the high temperatures loom.
In contrast, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and western Britain are predicted to have cloudier skies with rain as the low-pressure system moves across Ireland. Overnight into Tuesday, rain in these northern and western regions is expected to become locally heavy with thunderstorms. Further south, most areas are expected to remain dry, warm, and humid, though some thunderstorms could develop in south-east England.
