Dome Fire Explodes to 100 Acres in Yosemite National Park

A wildfire, dubbed the Dome Fire, rapidly grew to 100 acres in Yosemite National Park on Tuesday. The fire ignited around 8:30 a.m. near the Chilnualna Falls Trailhead, north of Wawona Dome.
By 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, the fire had reached 40 acres, according to CalFire. The blaze is burning in a wilderness area with grass, brush, and timber fuels, CalFire reported. The fire is moving upslope, influenced by terrain and wind, and has limited and difficult access for firefighters.
As of Tuesday afternoon, there were no immediate threats to structures or developed areas within the park.
