Coventry City Council is set to begin work on improving access and wildlife habitats at Longford Nature Park. The council has designated the small reserve as being of high importance to the city.

Improvements planned for the park include the installation of a new boardwalk across marshy areas, increased litter-picking efforts, and the creation of shallow wetland habitats. These enhancements are funded through Section 106 money, a financial contribution made by developers to local councils in connection with new development projects.

Councillor Patricia Hetherton stated that the planned improvements will help protect the park's existing biodiversity and make it easier for visitors to experience nature more closely. "Green spaces like Longford Park play an important role in supporting our health and wellbeing," she said.
