Ruth Major, an 81-year-old anti-litter campaigner from Redruth, Cornwall, has completed a 55-day journey across England, visiting all 39 BBC local radio stations to spread her message about reducing litter. Known affectionately as Rubbish Ruth, Major has been collecting litter for a decade and stated that the situation is deteriorating.

During her tour, she used her bus pass and a litter picker to cover the country. Major expressed dismay at the state of the environment, saying, "We live in a beautiful country and we should be so ashamed of what's happening in it."
