Brick & Mortar, an independent clothing boutique in West Hollywood, will close its doors permanently at the end of November after a 20-year run. The store, located at 8713 Santa Monica Boulevard, specialized in men's fashion, jewelry, and home accessories.

In a statement on its website, the boutique announced, "STORE CLOSING: Thanks for more than 20 years, WeHo!" All remaining items in-store and online will be available at a 50% discount during a closing sale.

Brick & Mortar was opened in 2006 by Evan Hughes, who aimed to create a community space. He was later joined by his partner, Steve Foggs, who designed shirts sold at the store.

The closure occurs amidst broader economic challenges facing West Hollywood's small businesses. A recent study indicated the city's retail vacancy rate at 9.2%. Local business owners have pointed to rising rents and costs of living as significant pressures. Several other businesses, including the restaurant Sushiya on Sunset and bars Electric Owl and Employees Only, have also recently closed in the area.
