EasyJet has agreed to be acquired by US-based investment firm Apollo Global Management in a deal valued at £5.7 billion ($7.7 billion). The agreement follows rival suitor Castlelake's withdrawal from the bidding process, clearing the path for Apollo's takeover.
EasyJet, founded in 1995 by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, operates as one of Europe's largest low-cost carriers. The airline employs over 19,000 staff and offers approximately 1,200 routes across 35 European countries, providing affordable air travel from the UK.
