UK Economy Sees Slowed Growth of 0.4% in Second Quarter

The United Kingdom's economy experienced a growth of 0.4% between April and June, a slight deceleration from the 0.6% expansion recorded in the first quarter of the year, according to official data. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) reported that the services sector was the primary driver of this growth, with the manufacturing sector also contributing positively.

Official figures indicated that the pace of economic expansion slowed in the second quarter. However, some businesses reported that favorable conditions in June, including warm weather and major sporting events, had a positive impact on their performance. The start of the men's football World Cup in mid-June coincided with one of the summer's heatwaves, which reportedly boosted customer traffic at hospitality venues.
