Tripadvisor Names Top Hotels for 2026, Indonesian Hotel Takes First Place

Tripadvisor has announced the winners of its 2026 Travellers' Choice Awards: Best of the Best Hotels, recognizing the world's highest-rated accommodations based on reviewer feedback. The G.H. Universal Hotel in Bandung, Indonesia, earned the number one position. This hotel, described as a Renaissance-style building, offers luxury and is noted for its affordability, with rooms starting at approximately £35 per night.

Laurel Greatrix, chief communications officer for Tripadvisor Group, stated that the award winners represent the top choices of millions of travelers. The awards showcase a diverse range of properties, from opulent resorts to boutique hotels.

Following the top hotel in Indonesia, the second-highest ranked hotel is Hotel Colline de France in Gramado, Brazil. This property is noted for its European elegance and amenities, including suites with a custom fragrance and a wellness center.

In third place is Hotel Sporting Family Hospitality in Livigno, Italy, a family-friendly hotel praised for its cozy ambiance, wellness areas, and proximity to ski lifts. Royal Lancaster London secured the fourth spot globally and was recognized as the best hotel in the UK and second best in Europe. It overlooks Hyde Park and is within walking distance of London landmarks.

The list also features FivePine Lodge and Spa in Sisters, Oregon, USA, at number five, highlighted for its immersion in nature with activities like mountain biking and hiking. La Siesta Hoi An Resort & Spa in Vietnam is sixth, known for its gardens, multiple swimming pools, and spa services.

Other notable inclusions in the top ten are Abigail's Hotel in Victoria, Canada (seventh), which blends historic charm with luxury; Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort in Aruba (eighth), recognized as the Caribbean's first certified carbon-neutral hotel; Hotel Moments Budapest in Hungary (ninth), located on a World Heritage site; and La Sinfonía del Rey Hotel & Spa in Hanoi, Vietnam (tenth), a luxury boutique hotel near Hoan Kiem Lake.

The awards span various categories and locations, with other recognized hotels including Hamanasi Adventure and Dive Resort in Belize, Palacio Nazarenas in Cusco, Peru, and Serenity at Coconut Bay in St. Lucia. The list also includes The Loutrel in Charleston, USA, and Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa in Mauritius. Kapama Private Game Reserve in South Africa, Emporium Hotel South Bank in Brisbane, Australia, and The Reef House Adults Retreat Palm Cove in Australia also made the rankings. Further down the list are Hotel Nordik in Italy, The Bryant Park Hotel in New York City, USA, and Sant Jaume Design Hotel in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
