Tottenham Hotspur Eyes Chelsea Striker Nicolas Jackson Amid Summer Transfer Window Activity
Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi reportedly looking to strengthen the team's attack, with Jackson valued at £65 million by Chelsea.
Tottenham Hotspur has identified Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson as a potential transfer target, according to reports. While no formal discussions between the clubs have commenced, sources indicate that Spurs are considering the 25-year-old Senegalese international as they aim to bolster their attacking options.
Manager Roberto De Zerbi has overseen significant investment in the defensive and midfield units this transfer window, with expenditures nearing £250 million on players such as Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andy Robertson, and Marcos Senesi. De Zerbi has suggested that the club's transfer window is only about 60 percent complete and has not ruled out the potential departure of Richarlison, who recently scored a late winner against Chelsea in a friendly match.
Chelsea is reportedly valuing Jackson at £65 million. Aston Villa is also said to be interested, though any move for Villa would need to be a permanent transfer, as they have already secured Alejandro Garnacho on loan. Jackson is reportedly open to a move away from Stamford Bridge in pursuit of more consistent playing time.
Tottenham, with Johan Lange as sporting director, has previously admired Jackson. The clubs have a history of infrequent transfer dealings, with notable moves including Gus Poyet in 2001 and Carlo Cudicini in 2009. More recently, Joel Vidal-Philbert joined Tottenham's academy from Chelsea's.
Chelsea's forward line is currently crowded following the acquisition of Danny Welbeck. The club is understood to need to offload at least two strikers, with Jackson and Welbeck being among the more sellable options. Other forwards at Chelsea include Liam Delap, Emmanuel Emegha, Marc Guiu, and Joao Pedro, who is more likely to sign an extension than be sold.
Jackson has been a notable performer for Chelsea, reaching double-figure Premier League goal tallies in both the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons. He spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Bayern Munich after a reported breakdown in his relationship with manager Enzo Maresca, but had impressed at Chelsea prior to that spell. Jackson is currently with the Chelsea squad in Hong Kong for their pre-season tour, having joined after the World Cup campaign with Senegal. Manager Xabi Alonso is expected to assess the striker before finalizing any decisions regarding his future.
