Taylor Farms Recalls Products Due to Salmonella Contamination
The recall impacts sandwiches, salsas, dips, and other items distributed across 26 U.S. states.
Taylor Farms is initiating a recall of various food products, including sandwiches, salsas, and dips, due to potential salmonella contamination. The recall affects products distributed across 26 states in the United States.
The company's action follows a broader recall of jalapeno products after a salmonella outbreak was linked to a grower in Sinaloa, Mexico. Taylor Farms identified this grower as the source of the contamination and has ceased sourcing from that farm, opting for alternative suppliers.
The recalled items include pico de gallo salsa, several types of guacamole, burritos, spicy sandwiches, and fresh sliced jalapenos. Consumers are advised to discard any recalled products immediately. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.
Salmonella infection typically manifests symptoms within 12 to 72 hours after consumption and can include diarrhea, fever, and stomach pain, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
