Tapestry Sales Expected to Rise as Luxury Market Shows Signs of Recovery
The owner of Coach and Kate Spade anticipates an 8.6% year-on-year sales increase for the quarter ending June.
Tapestry, the parent company of luxury brands Coach and Kate Spade, is poised to report an increase in sales for the three months ending in June, signaling a potential recovery in the high-end goods market. Analysts project that the company achieved approximately £1.4 billion in sales during this period, marking an 8.6% rise compared to the same quarter in the previous year.
The brand's popular Coach bags, which range in price from £250 to £625, are noted for their appeal to younger consumers and are considered an accessible entry point into the luxury market.
In contrast to its overall positive outlook, Tapestry's Kate Spade brand is expected to see a decline in revenue. Projections indicate a 9% drop, with sales falling from £187 million to £171 million. Meanwhile, Coach's sales are forecast to reach £1.2 billion, up from £1.06 billion in the prior year's comparable quarter.
This financial update comes as other luxury retailers like Hermès and LVMH have reported that geopolitical events in the Middle East have impacted their sales in the United Arab Emirates. Investors will be observing Tapestry's report for further insights into consumer spending habits within the luxury sector and signs of improvement for the Kate Spade brand.
