Stonegate Faces Investigation Over Tenant Mistreatment Allegations

Stonegate, the owner of more than 4,500 pubs across the UK including brands like Slug & Lettuce and Be At One, is currently under investigation by the Pubs Code Adjudicator (PCA). The probe has been initiated following allegations that the company has failed to adequately repair its rundown properties and has violated industry regulations concerning the fair treatment of its tenants.

According to the PCA, there are "reasonable grounds" to suspect that Stonegate has not adhered to its obligations regarding the provision of accurate and transparent information to its tenants. Fiona Dickie, the adjudicator, specifically noted that "Particular tenant concerns relate to repairs to pub premises."
