Scorpios Bodrum Temporarily Closes Amid Dispute With Local Partner

Scorpios in Bodrum, a popular Turkish Riviera destination that has hosted celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Gigi Hadid, and Rita Ora, has temporarily ceased operations due to an ongoing dispute with a local business partner. The resort announced its closure on social media, citing unresolved differences that prevent it from operating to its established standards.

According to a source close to Scorpios, the issues have significantly impacted the venue since it opened for the 2026 summer season. Restrictions have been imposed that prevent the resort's onsite ambulance and doctors from accessing the property, raising safety concerns. Additionally, limitations on bringing ice onto the property have created potential food safety and hygiene issues. The operational challenges also include reduced delivery windows, with only one hour allocated for deliveries. Further disruptions involve the overnight demolition of the guest gatehouse and the removal of the parking area, forcing guests to park on a public road and walk to the entrance. The resort has also reportedly experienced a reduction in its licensed operating hours.

In a statement posted on Instagram, Scorpios Bodrum expressed regret for the temporary cessation of business. The resort stated, "Under the current circumstances being imposed on us, we are no longer able to operate in a way that meets the standards, values and responsibilities we hold ourselves to." The statement emphasized Scorpios' commitment to guest and employee well-being and safety, and expressed hope for a resolution that would allow for a future reopening.

The closure has disappointed fans, with many expressing their sadness and hope for the resort's return. Scorpios in Bodrum is noted for its beachside experience, Eastern Mediterranean cuisine with Mexican influences, and 12 bungalows with private pools.

Bodrum has become a notable destination for luxury brands and resorts, with Scorpios choosing the peninsula for its second permanent outpost, following its original location in Mykonos. The area also features other high-end establishments such as Mandarin Oriental, EDITION, and Maxx Royal.
