S Club Splits From Founder Simon Fuller After 28 Years
The pop group is reportedly moving in a new direction after parting ways with their long-time manager and founder Simon Fuller.
The British pop group S Club has reportedly ended its relationship with founder and manager Simon Fuller, marking a significant shift 28 years after the band's formation. Sources suggest Fuller is steering his business interests in a new direction, leading to the separation.
S Club, previously known as S Club 7, had a long-standing connection with Fuller, who established the group after his departure from managing the Spice Girls. The band's music catalogue is held by Universal Music, providing them with a strong foundation as they embark on this new chapter.
The group is currently preparing for a comeback tour, with several dates reportedly booked for arenas in the UK starting in early 2027. While members Rachel Stevens, Jo O'Meara, Jon Lee, and Tina Barrett are understood to have committed to the tour, efforts are reportedly underway to persuade Hannah Spearritt to rejoin. Spearritt had a falling out with the rest of the group in 2023.
In February, Tina Barrett confirmed that the band was working on several new projects and expressed excitement about their upcoming work. "We haven’t parted ways, we’ve actually got some projects that we’re working on," Barrett told Perry Presents. "I can’t confirm anything, but yes, you will be seeing more of us, and hopefully everyone’s as excited as we are. We’ve got new stuff to show you, that’s for sure."
The band reunited in 2023 to celebrate their 25th anniversary. However, shortly after their announcement, original member Paul Cattermole died unexpectedly at the age of 46 from heart failure. The group proceeded with their planned shows, renaming them The Good Times Tour, as a tribute to Cattermole. They also released a new single, "These are the Days," in his memory.
S Club, who achieved major success with hits like "Bring It All Back," "S Club Party," "Reach," and "Never Had a Dream Come True," first gained prominence through the BBC show "Miami 7." Cattermole had previously left the band in 2002, and S Club disbanded in 2003, after which Fuller launched a follow-up project, S Club Juniors. Several members have pursued solo careers or other ventures, including Rachel Stevens, who was a runner-up on "Strictly Come Dancing" in 2008.
