Paul Hollywood has resumed landing his £500,000 helicopter on the rear lawn of his £1 million farmhouse in Kent, a practice that had previously led to noise complaints from local residents and a temporary relocation to a nearby aerodrome. Neighbors have reported seeing the "Great British Bake Off" star, 60, using his Robinson R44 Raven aircraft as recently as three weeks ago. Some residents living near his property in the outskirts of Ashford continue to voice concerns about the noise disturbances.
Flight logs indicate Hollywood's helicopter was used for an 18-minute journey from near Maidstone to Kent International Airport as recently as last week. Hollywood began training to become a pilot in 2022 and has reportedly used the helicopter for his 120-mile commute to Berkshire for filming the latest series of Channel 4's "Great British Bake Off." Some residents have noted that a windsock remains in the field, suggesting an intention to continue using the helicopter for landings.
This renewed activity comes after neighbors previously complained about the noise two years ago. The Mail on Sunday previously reported that his "Bake Off" co-star Nigella Lawson, 66, found his helicopter travel arrangements to be "all rather cringe." Hollywood is rumored to earn approximately £14 million annually, and he and his wife, Melissa, have reportedly used the helicopter for trips to luxury hotels.
