One-of-a-Kind Range Rover Sells for $1 Million, With $400,000 Shotguns in Boot

A unique Range Rover, commissioned by British gunmaker Holland & Holland and modified by Overfinch, has achieved a price of £1 million (approximately $1.27 million USD), making it the most expensive Range Rover ever created. The vehicle's high cost is significantly attributed to the pair of custom Holland & Holland "Royal" side-by-side shotguns included in the boot.

The one-off commission, described as a "singular expression of British craftsmanship," is based on the extended wheelbase Range Rover SV. While standard Range Rovers range from over £107,000 to more than £200,000, this special edition pushes the luxury SUV into an entirely different price bracket. In November, Overfinch and Holland & Holland announced a limited run of 25 special-edition Range Rovers, each featuring a bespoke shotgun cabinet. This final, 25th vehicle represents the pinnacle of that collaboration.

Bespoke Interior and Exterior

The exterior of the vehicle is finished in a deep black paint, accented with gold detailing on the grille, side vents, wheel spokes, and rear trim, creating a heightened sense of sophistication. Under the hood, it is believed to be powered by a 4.4-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine with mild-hybrid assistance, producing 615 horsepower. This setup allows the standard model to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 4.4 seconds.

Inside, the cabin features a lighter color scheme than the other 24 editions, combining warm ivory and black leather with extensive walnut veneer. Intricate embroidery of game birds adorns the seatbacks, with contrasting Holland & Holland monograms on the headrests. A handcrafted "moorland marquetry" design is integrated into the deployable table between the rear seats, depicting a landscape scene with game birds taking flight.

Luxury Features and Firearms

The boot of the Range Rover houses a sliding walnut-and-ash "Cellarette," which includes a bespoke gun-and-drinks cabinet. This compartment contains eight crystal glasses, storage for two bottles, and a cigar humidor. The centerpiece of this feature is the dedicated storage for two matching Holland & Holland "Royal" side-by-side shotguns, which are included with the vehicle.

These exclusive firearms alone are valued at approximately £400,000, accounting for nearly half of the vehicle's £1 million price tag. The companies claim the resulting vehicle is "the most luxurious Range Rover ever built." The one-of-a-kind Range Rover was unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and has already been sold.
