Nature's Own Launches 'Sandwishes' Cookbook Featuring Recipes by Make-A-Wish Kids
The campaign aims to bring children's culinary imaginations to life while supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Nature's Own, a leading loaf bread brand, has unveiled a multi-platform campaign named "Sandwishes," which includes a digital cookbook filled with sandwich recipes created by children with critical illnesses. This initiative is part of the brand's ongoing "Slice of Hope" partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The "Sandwishes" campaign showcases recipes derived from the creativity of children who have had their wishes granted by the foundation. For example, Olivia, who has lymphoma, developed the "Bright Harvest Bacon Bite" using Nature's Own Honey Wheat bread. Another featured recipe is Luke's "Mediterranean Magic Melt," a combination of Nature's Own Honey Wheat, tomato, feta, buffalo mozzarella, Swiss, and white American cheeses, created by a child diagnosed with leukemia.
Krystle Farlow, senior director of brand management for Nature's Own, stated that the campaign allows wish kids' imaginations to be shared and recreated by anyone. She added that the recipes offer a glimpse into the children's creativity and can help parents understand their children's preferences.
Other recipes in the digital cookbook include Nash's "Swiss Thunder 'Herowich,'" featuring Nature's Own Honey Wheat with ham, apple slices, and Swiss cheese, and Lila's "Green Garden 'Glowwich,'" a mix of avocado spread, Swiss cheese, tomato, and pesto on Nature's Own Honey Wheat. Eliana, who suffers from kidney disease, contributed the "Banana Boost Super Swirl" recipe, made with strawberry jelly, strawberries, banana, and hazelnut spread on Nature's Own Butterbread.
Leslie Motter, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America, expressed gratitude for Nature's Own's effort in bringing the children's creativity to life. She noted that the campaign enables families to connect with the imagination behind each wish and helps Make-A-Wish deliver hope and joy to children facing critical illnesses.
The "Sandwishes" campaign builds upon Nature's Own's initial sponsorship of Make-A-Wish, which began in 2025 with a $500,000 contribution. Last year, the brand introduced in-store displays with a virtual "Well Wish Wall" for shoppers to send messages to the children.
Actor and philanthropist John Cena, a significant supporter of Make-A-Wish and the foundation's largest wish granter with 650 wishes granted, has also been involved in Nature's Own initiatives. He helped launch simpler recipes with reduced ingredients.
