National Grid Overhauls Leadership, Shrinking Executive Team to Eight
The UK energy giant aims to improve performance and accountability by consolidating its top management and appointing new UK and US presidents.
National Grid has significantly reduced the size of its top management team, consolidating its executive committee from 13 members to eight. This strategic shakeup is intended to "sharpen execution, improve performance and increase accountability," according to the company.
The London-based firm is combining leadership roles under new presidents for its UK and US operations. This move coincides with the company's commitment to its largest-ever investment program, which allocates £70 billion over the next five years to modernize and expand energy networks in both the UK and the northeastern United States.
Cordi O’Hara, currently heading the UK’s electricity distribution, is slated to become the UK president on September 1. Sally Librera, who oversees the New York business, will serve as the interim president for the US operations. These appointments are part of the broader restructuring designed to streamline management and enhance operational efficiency as the company embarks on its extensive investment plans.
