Santa Monica will soon welcome a new breakfast and lunch establishment as Met Her at a Bar prepares to open an outlet on Main Street. The café, which offers a neighborhood atmosphere and serves authentic Belgian waffles and Colombe coffees, is scheduled to open in August.

This new Santa Monica café will be the fifth restaurant for owners Mindy and Vinny Kinne, a husband-and-wife team who launched their first café in 2017 in the Miracle Mile area of Los Angeles. Their other establishments include The Night We Met, Met Him at a Bar, and Her Thai. The couple met at a bar in 2014 and married in 2019.

Vinny Kinne described the venture as a "love story," noting that Mindy had always dreamed of opening a small shop for her friends. "She found a place, and we risked everything," he told Eater Los Angeles in December of the previous year.

The design for the Santa Monica location is being handled by Sormeh Rienne, who also styled Her Thai and contributed to design upgrades at Met Him at a Bar. The new restaurant will also feature an updated cocktail menu. The café is currently under construction.

Since their initial opening, the Kinnes' restaurants have consistently attracted large crowds. They attribute this success to their shared passion for hospitality. "I always tell the employees it’s not a hard concept. It’s just like when you have guests over at your house. I just want them to feel like they’re at home with their friends or their family having dinner," Vinny Kinne has said previously. The café aims to emulate this welcoming atmosphere for its patrons.
