Love Island Star Alleges £7,000 Scam by Celebrity-Endorsed Travel Firm
Tyla Carr claims InteleTravel operated as a pyramid scheme, leading to financial loss and a dispute.
Love Island personality Tyla Carr has accused online travel firm InteleTravel of scamming her out of £7,000. Carr alleges the company, which she joined in March 2025 after numerous social media approaches, operates as a pyramid scheme.
Carr stated she felt pressured to recruit others, particularly single mothers, and that the company's sales pitches were disingenuous. "I felt like everything they were telling me to say was just bull**** and I didn't want to go down that route," she told The Sun.
InteleTravel, a network of independent travel agents, works with PlanNet Marketing, a recruitment company. Financial accounts from PlanNet Marketing Inc. indicate that in 2024, approximately 92.5% of agents earned just £32 per year.
Carr initially sought to earn money back on her own holidays, finding the prospect appealing. She reported that after booking trips to South Africa and Dubai, the agency cancelled her bookings, citing a "duplicate booking," and charged her £3,000. This dispute was settled in court in favor of InteleTravel.
Carr is currently seeking to regain access to her account and recover the funds she believes she is owed.
While Carr's experience is not linked to endorsements by celebrities like Vicky Pattison and Jess Wright, who have promoted the firm, she maintains the business is a scam. "I thought I could earn some money back on my own holidays and then it would be worth it for me," Carr said. "They made it seem really appealing and pushed the fact that it's not a pyramid scheme, which I was worried about."
InteleTravel issued a statement saying, "As this matter is currently subject to ongoing legal proceedings, it would be inappropriate to comment on the specific details of the case at this time. InteleTravel follows a clear and consistent process for resolving any disputes that arise."
Representatives for Vicky Pattison stated, "Vicky is sad to hear of these isolated experiences. Every person within her own community of agents has all had such positive experiences not only financially, but also socially and professionally too. Vicky works incredibly hard to make sure that every single person in her own team is supported, protected and looked after and has a highly successful track record of individuals who have all gained impressive financial rewards along the way." Jess Wright's representatives were approached for comment.
