Louis Vuitton Launches $58 Lip Crayon, Earns Rave Reviews

Louis Vuitton has entered the beauty market with its La Beauté Louis Vuitton collection, first released in 2025, and has now expanded its offerings with the LV Crayon Lip Pencil. Designed by celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath, the new lip crayon retails for $58 and aims to provide precision and artistry to the lip line.

McGrath stated in a press release that the lip line is fundamental to every look she creates on the Louis Vuitton runway and should be accessible to all women. The LV Crayon Lip Pencil is currently the most affordable item in the Louis Vuitton beauty lineup, with other products such as lipstick priced at $160 and a sharpener at $455.

The crayon is available in 10 shades, ranging from nudes to deep reds and burgundies. The formula is described as buttery and buildable, allowing for versatile application from crisp, bold lines to softer, blurred looks.

Page Six editors tested two shades of the LV Crayon. Style & Shopping Director Elana Fishman reviewed the shade "Burnt Sienna," a red-orange hue. She noted its significant color payoff and staying power, characteristic of McGrath's products. Fishman described the texture as smooth, gliding on without skipping or dragging, and easy to blend. She suggested that viewing the crayon as a combination lipstick and liner makes its high price more justifiable.

Associate Shopping Editor Hannah Southwick tested the shade "Nude Quest." She echoed praise for the product's smooth application and blendability, calling it the best lip liner she has ever used. Southwick acknowledged the existence of more budget-friendly alternatives but recommended the LV Crayon for luxury beauty consumers.

The LV Crayon Lip Pencil has already been seen on celebrities like Emma Stone and Hoyeon, who used it for a blurred lip effect at the Louis Vuitton Cruise show in May. Makeup artist Nina Park reportedly used only the LV Crayon and a sheer balm to achieve their looks.
