Liverpool Completes £60M Jacquet Transfer; English Agency Launches French Venture
Unique Sports Group partners with One Team Football to form Unique France following the acquisition of defender Jeremy Jacquet.
Liverpool has finalized the transfer of 20-year-old defender Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes for £60 million, a deal that coincides with the launch of a new French venture by English agency Unique Sports Group.
The new entity, Unique France, is a result of an investment by Unique Sports Group into French agency One Team Football. The collaboration brings together the expertise of two established football agencies with the aim of representing elite players internationally.
Unique Sports Group, which already has operations in several countries including Germany, Spain, South Korea, Ivory Coast, and the UAE, worked alongside Michael Manuello of One Team Football on the Jacquet transfer. Jacquet, considered a top defensive prospect from France, has signed a five-year contract with Liverpool.
This move marks another significant transaction for Unique Sports Group this summer, following their involvement in the transfer of Anthony Gordon to Barcelona. The agency's client roster includes World Cup squad members Gordon, Marc Guehi, and Dean Henderson, as well as Crystal Palace player Maxence Lacroix.
Will Salthouse, CEO and founder of Unique Sports Group, stated that the launch of Unique France is a key step in the company's ambition to grow beyond the UK and become a leading international agency. He highlighted France's continued production of top talent and the potential for combined strengths to create future opportunities.
Steve Hitchen, Director of Football at Unique Sports Group, expressed excitement about the joint venture, noting One Team's strong reputation and knowledge of the French market. He believes the combined experience will be beneficial for developing players within both organizations.
Michael Manuello, founder of One Team Football, described the partnership as an exciting new chapter, providing his agency access to a strong Premier League platform and creating further opportunities for their clients. He emphasized shared values and a long-term vision for the collaboration.
