Kmart Australia Unveils 'Quiet Luxury' Home Collection with Affordable Statement Pieces
The new Living Collection features on-trend designs in marble, rich chocolate tones, and playful patterns, with prices starting from $1.75.
Kmart Australia has launched its new Living Collection, a seasonal range designed to bring affordable luxury and on-trend aesthetics into homes. The collection, curated by Kmart's in-house team, spans various home categories including décor, bedding, kitchenware, and wellness items, focusing on functionality and statement design at accessible price points.
Central to the collection's appeal is its embrace of current global trends, reinterpreted for the Australian market. "We're seeing a real shift in how customers approach their homes, they're looking to create spaces that feel uplifting, personal and full of character," said Kmart Buyer Nicholas Holmes. "With this collection, we've taken the biggest global trends and reimagined them the Kmart way making them accessible, easy to style and incredibly affordable."
A standout piece highlighted by the retailer is the rechargeable Marble Lamp, priced at $19. Made from real marble with a white shade and a wine-red stone base, it features touch controls and adjustable brightness. Holmes noted its portability and versatility, stating it can be placed in various locations within a home and justified by its functionality. "It ticks so many boxes - the price, the colour of the red marble, and the fact that it layers in so well with what customers are transforming their homes into those earthy, warm tones," he explained.
The collection also incorporates popular patterns, such as polka dots, appearing on bedding with the Reversible Polka Dot Linen Cotton Quilt Cover Sets (from $65) and across various dining and storage items. "The polka dot obsession is making its way into Aussie homes - from the bedroom to dining," the retailer noted.
Other notable items include the Travertine Look Dining Table, priced at $179, which is presented as a more accessible alternative to designer versions costing over $1,600. The range also features modular furniture, such as the Luca Modular Sofa in chocolate ($499) and modular compressed chairs designed to be reconfigured. "The modular compressed chairs are set to be a hit among shoppers. The best part? You can add more chairs to create a lounging sofa and style it however you like. It comes in a box, and expands within minutes - growing to a full size after 72 hours," a description stated.
Kmart Buyer Nicholas Holmes identified several top picks across different rooms. For the bedroom, he suggested the Polka Dot Linen Cotton Reversible Quilt Cover Set. In the bathroom, the Popcorn Cotton Bath Towels (from $12) in chocolate and natural tones were recommended. For living areas, the Ripple furniture collection, including the Ripple Coffee Table ($89), was highlighted. Kitchenware in a new butter colourway, such as the Retro Espresso Coffee Machine ($99) and 4L Air Fryer ($49), were also mentioned as popular buys.
Kmart's Design Manager Siri Thanissorn emphasized the collection's blend of trend-driven design with practicality. "It's about solving people's problems as well as bringing trends to the table," she said. Thanissorn's personal highlights included the marble lamp, the polka dot quilt cover set, and the Luca Modular Sofa in chocolate, which she described as a grounding neutral colour. The Arch Chopping Board ($20) was also noted as a potential viral kitchen essential.
The collection is organized around three key trends: playful pattern layering, expressive color, and quiet luxury finishes. This includes mixing bold patterns, using mood-boosting hues like green and pink balanced with chocolate tones, and incorporating premium-inspired textures such as marble and sculptural forms. "Colour pops, stripes and spots are no longer standalone moments, they're designed to be mixed and layered with confidence," Kmart stated.
Merchandise Director James Brennan noted that the collection reflects evolving Australian lifestyles, combining playful design, functionality, and value. "We know cost of living continues to be front of mind, so we're making it easier for customers to refresh their homes with on-trend pieces that feel exciting, versatile and accessible at every price point," Brennan said. The Living Collection is available in Kmart stores, online, and via the Kmart app.
