Kickstarter Reports Record-Breaking Year Driven by Creator-Backer Community

Kickstarter celebrated a landmark year in 2025, marked by its most successful campaign in history and a surge in creative projects funded by its dedicated community. The eufyMake E1, a personal 3D-texture UV printer, raised an unprecedented $46,762,258 from 7,822 backers, setting a new record for the crowdfunding platform.

A Year of Record Campaigns

Beyond the eufyMake E1, several other campaigns achieved significant milestones. The literary world saw strong performance with Ali Hazelwood and Adriana Herrera’s “After the End: A Dystopian Romance Collection,” which garnered over $1 million. Similarly, “The Transformers: Compendium Set” raised $4.6 million, demonstrating robust enthusiasm for diverse creative endeavors.

“People are hungry for projects that are powered by creatives, projects that are diverse, and above all projects in which authors haven’t had to compromise their creative vision,” said Ali Hazelwood, one of the creators behind “After the End.” This sentiment underscores a growing demand for creative freedom and unique projects that may not fit traditional publishing models.

The Power of Community and Belief

The success of Kickstarter is deeply rooted in its community-driven model. Over 24 million individuals have backed at least one project, with a significant portion, approximately 33%, being repeat backers. These dedicated supporters often engage with projects not just for the final product, but for the experience of participating in the creation process. User surveys indicate that 78% of repeat backers support projects to be part of something novel, while 52% are motivated by a need for the product itself, with 37% seeking early access or discounts.

This model fosters a sense of collective optimism, where shared conviction transforms creators' visions into tangible realities. By directly supporting artists, engineers, and innovators, backers validate the idea that a united community can make ambitious projects achievable.

A Commitment to Creative Independence

Kickstarter's ethos, described as the “Power of Belief,” champions creative independence and cultural relevance. As a Public Benefit Corporation, the company holds a legal and moral accountability for its societal impact. This structure reinforces its commitment to balancing the courage of creators with the willingness of the public to support their endeavors.

The platform acts as a cultural indicator, shaped by the preferences of those who fund it. Kickstarter continues to serve as a vital space for independent creators and a platform for individuals to invest in ideas they value.
