Kalshi Seeks to Offer Perpetual Futures for Gold, Silver, and Platinum
The exchange has requested approval to allow users to speculate on the long-term price movements of precious metals.

Kalshi, an exchange operator, is seeking regulatory approval to launch perpetual futures contracts for gold, silver, and platinum. This move follows the company's May approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to introduce the first perpetual futures contracts in the United States, which were tied to cryptocurrency prices.
The proposed contracts would allow traders to speculate on the future price of these precious metals without an expiration date, a feature common in cryptocurrency markets but less so for traditional commodities. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission, which oversees futures trading in the U.S., must approve Kalshi's request before the contracts can be offered to users.
