The beachfront Malibu estate of legendary singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell has been listed for sale at $27 million. The 4,000-square-foot Cape Cod-inspired home, designed by architect Ron Goldman, is situated on Malibu Road.

A unique feature of the property is its private pool and spa, located on the beachfront terrace just steps from the sand. Due to strict coastal development regulations in Malibu, constructing a new pool so close to the tide is currently considered virtually impossible, making this amenity a significant draw.

The home itself boasts vaulted wood-beamed ceilings, extensive glass walls overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and a sun-drenched layout. It includes five bedrooms and five bathrooms. The property offers a balance of seclusion within the Malibu Colony and convenient access to local boutiques, cafes, and restaurants.

The listing comes after Mitchell's rare public appearance in March at the Juno Awards, where she received the Lifetime Achievement Award. At the event, she spoke about her health, mentioning a brain aneurysm that led to a coma, which in turn helped her quit smoking. She described this period as a transformative experience that ultimately improved her life, comparing her recovery to a phoenix rising from catastrophe.
