Helen Mirren Relists Historic Hollywood Hills Estate for $12 Million
The Oscar-winning actress and director Taylor Hackford have reduced the price of their 6.5-acre compound, a property with over a century of Hollywood history.
Oscar-winning actress Helen Mirren and her husband, director Taylor Hackford, have relisted their historic Hollywood Hills estate for $12 million, a significant reduction from its original asking price. The couple first put the property on the market in 2021 for $18.5 million.
A Glimpse into Hollywood History
The 10,199-square-foot estate spans 6.5 acres and is described as a surviving piece of Old Hollywood. Built in 1911 for silent film star Dustin Farnum, the property has passed through the hands of several notable figures, including film producer Mark Hellinger and actress-producer Gail Patrick, who was the executive producer of the original "Perry Mason" television series.
The interiors have been staged with a design that blends nostalgia and modern luxury, featuring deep silk rugs, rich green tones, warm wood accents, vintage furnishings, and oversized black-and-white Hollywood photography.
Estate Features
The private compound includes a grand main residence, a separate three-bedroom guesthouse, and an office with an apartment above the garage. The grounds boast a swimming pool, sweeping terraces, and refreshed landscaping surrounded by mature trees, offering panoramic views of the Hollywood Hills.
Jonas Heller of Westside Estate Agency, who is co-listing the property with Kurt Rappaport, described it as a "truly rare opportunity to acquire one of the Hollywood Hills' most historically significant and private estates."
Mirren, known for her roles in "The Queen" and "1923," has been married to Hackford, former president of the Directors Guild of America, since 1997.
