Gold Prices Decline Amid Rising Bond Yields and Stronger Dollar
Investor demand for the precious metal faces pressure from macroeconomic factors.

Gold prices experienced a dip in early Asian trade, influenced by a confluence of rising bond yields and a strengthening U.S. dollar. These macroeconomic conditions are exerting pressure on investor demand for the precious metal.
Analysts at ANZ noted that the upward trend in bond yields typically makes interest-bearing investments more attractive compared to non-yielding assets like gold. Simultaneously, a stronger dollar can also deter gold purchases, as the commodity is often priced in U.S. currency. When the dollar strengthens, gold becomes more expensive for buyers holding other currencies, potentially dampening demand.
