Global Stocks Mostly Higher Following Wall Street's Rally

Global shares saw a general increase on Tuesday, with market sentiment turning positive after a rally on Wall Street the previous day. This upward trend was observed across various international markets.

In early European trading, France's CAC 40 rose by nearly 0.2%, reaching 8,152.58. Germany's DAX saw a 0.1% increase, trading at 25,609.14, while Britain's FTSE 100 edged up by almost 0.1% to 10,746.70.

Asian markets also reflected the positive mood. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.3% to 8,757.80, and South Korea's Kospi climbed 0.2% to 7,017.91. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index added 0.2% to 25,087.75. The Shanghai Composite in mainland China remained largely unchanged, inching up less than 0.1% to 3,952.13. Markets in Tokyo were closed for an extended holiday and were scheduled to resume trading on Thursday.

U.S. stocks were poised for a mixed open, with Dow futures showing a near 0.1% increase to 52,504.00, while S&P 500 futures indicated a slight decline of less than 0.1% to 7,829.50.

The recent performance of global equities has been partly supported by a decline in oil prices. Benchmark U.S. crude fell 2.07% to $93.80 a barrel, and the international standard, Brent crude, lost 0.58% to $99.76 a barrel. Although still higher than their roughly $72 price from earlier in the summer, these prices are down from nearly $110 reached the previous week. Oil prices have experienced volatility, influenced by geopolitical factors in the Middle East and the passage of crude through the Strait of Hormuz.

Additionally, the artificial intelligence (AI) sector has contributed to market strength, continuing its recovery after a slide at the start of the previous week. This comes as industry leaders have recently cautioned about the need for a slowdown in AI development to ensure human safety.

In currency markets, the U.S. dollar saw a slight decrease, trading at 157.15 Japanese yen, down from 157.31 yen. The euro traded at $1.1460, a decrease from $1.1469.
