Rosland Capital, the financial company where actor Erik von Detten formerly worked, has reported debts exceeding $63 million to its creditors, according to a bankruptcy filing reviewed by The Daily Mail. The disclosure statement, filed on October 29, listed total debts of $63,695,060.86.

This revelation comes amid an ongoing bankruptcy case in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California, Los Angeles Division. News of the substantial debt was first reported by TMZ.

In connection with the bankruptcy proceedings, the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors has accused the 44-year-old former child actor of not cooperating with their investigation. In a motion filed October 14, the creditors stated that von Detten has yet to provide key requested documents and sought court consent to subpoena him for them. The committee believes von Detten played an "instrumental part" in the company's business and its financial collapse, and that he possesses knowledge and documents crucial to their investigation.

Rosland Capital, which also employed actor William Devane as a spokesperson, is a precious metal asset management firm that filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in July. Employees were reportedly terminated in June. The firm's business model involved selling gold and other precious metals for physical possession and as part of IRA investments.

The committee's filing suggests von Detten played a critical role in attracting business to Rosland Capital.

Separately, von Detten and Rosland Capital are named in a lawsuit filed by a married couple, Norman and Sheila Greenberg, alleging fraud and elder abuse. The couple claims they were targeted by the company after seeing a television advertisement in 2020. They allege that after speaking with von Detten, they invested approximately $2.1 million in gold coins through the company, but the coins were never delivered and were allegedly stored for them. The couple claims the purchased coins were worth significantly less than their purchase price, and they are seeking $900,000 in damages to recover their losses, plus punitive damages.

Von Detten is widely recognized for his roles as Josh Bryant in Disney's 2001 film "The Princess Diaries." He also starred as Andy 'Brink' Brinker in the 1998 Disney Channel film "Brink!" and as Clu Bell in the series "So Weird." His voice acting credits include Sid in "Toy Story" (1995) and Flynt in "Tarzan" (1999).
