Elon Musk Considers Tesla-SpaceX Merger
The CEO stated that special committees are actively reviewing the potential consolidation of the two companies.
Elon Musk has indicated that he views a merger between Tesla and SpaceX favorably and that the concept is currently under active consideration. Musk shared his perspective during a Tuesday call with financial analysts discussing SpaceX's quarterly business results.
"Do I think it would be a good idea? Yes," Musk stated, while also cautioning that a merger is not a certainty and would require shareholder approval. He confirmed that special committees within both Tesla and SpaceX have been established to explore the possibility.
"The special committees have not reached agreement on terms of any transaction and there's no guarantee that they will," Musk added. "But I do think there is a lot of merit to merging and a lot to be gained."
Musk suggested that such a consolidation could offer significant benefits to his companies.
