Doritos Recalls Chilli Heatwave Flavor Over Undeclared Milk Ingredient

PepsiCo has issued an urgent recall for its Chilli Heatwave flavored Doritos, warning consumers not to eat the product due to the presence of undeclared milk. The company is recalling 140g bags of the snack because some packages were incorrectly seasoned with Tangy Cheese flavoring, which contains milk.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) stated that the mislabeled product poses a potential health risk to individuals with milk allergies or intolerances. Symptoms for those who consume the product and have a milk allergy can range from hives and respiratory issues to, in severe cases, anaphylactic shock.

Consumers who purchased the affected Chilli Heatwave Doritos are advised to return the product to the store where it was bought for a full refund. For further inquiries, customers can contact the PepsiCo Consumer Care Line at 0800 274777.

This is not the first time Doritos has faced a recall due to ingredient mislabeling. In 2024, the brand recalled its Tangy Cheese flavor in 180g bags and 5x30g multipacks sold at Tesco and Poundland, respectively. This recall was due to undeclared soya, which was a potential health risk for individuals with soya allergies. The FSA issued an alert at that time as these packets had been mispacked with Doritos Chilli Heatwave, a variety that contains soya.
