Crustacean Beverly Hills to Close After 30 Years, Plans Relocation
The iconic celebrity hotspot is departing its longtime location due to a building sale, with pop-up events and potential new sites on the horizon.
Crustacean, a renowned celebrity dining destination in Beverly Hills, is set to close its doors after a 30-year tenure at its Santa Monica Boulevard and Bedford Drive location. The closure follows the sale of the building, with the new landlord reportedly having other plans for the property that do not align with the restaurant's operations.
Elizabeth An, CEO of the family-run House of An restaurant group, confirmed that the building's new owner's intentions led to the departure. Initially anticipating a longer transition period, the restaurant extended its final service to July 29 after an outpouring of support from patrons on social media. Crustacean had originally announced a July 27 closing date.
The news has prompted emotional reactions from notable figures, including Chrissy Teigen and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Bozoma Saint John, both of whom expressed their dismay and fondness for the establishment on Instagram. The restaurant assured Teigen that "another chapter was coming" and thanked her for her years of support.

Crustacean, founded by chef Helene An, is particularly celebrated for its unique garlic noodle recipe and roasted Dungeness crab. The restaurant has long been a favorite among celebrities and a fixture in the Beverly Hills dining scene, known for its distinctive ambiance, including a koi fish aquarium walkway.
In the interim, the House of An group plans to host Crustacean pop-up events at its sister establishments, Tiato Kitchen + Venue in Santa Monica and AnQi Bistro in South Coast Plaza, through the end of the year. This initiative is intended to provide a transitional period while the family searches for a new permanent location. An has indicated that Pasadena or Calabasas are being considered for a potential relocation.
The family also operates a Crustacean location in San Francisco.
