Crustacean Beverly Hills Secures Temporary Extension on Closure

Crustacean Beverly Hills, a long-standing fixture in the Los Angeles dining scene, has secured a temporary extension and will remain open until October 31. The announcement follows an earlier report that the restaurant was being forced to close its doors after nearly 30 years at its North Bedford Drive location. The An family, which owns the restaurant, announced the extension on Instagram on Wednesday, crediting customer support for the reprieve.

"Your love made it happen!" the family stated in their post. The restaurant will observe a brief pause after its July 29 service to regroup before reopening on August 5 in a limited capacity. Reservations will be accepted through the end of September. In October, Crustacean will shift to takeout and special events only, leading up to its permanent closure at the current site on October 31.

The extension provides the An family with additional time to bid a proper farewell to its patrons and employees, an opportunity they feared they would lose. "The weight of not being able to do so was extremely painful for my mother and I," the family shared.

Crustacean's departure from its current location is a result of the building's sale. Elizabeth An, CEO of the family-run House of An restaurant group, told Fox 11 that the new landlord has plans for the property that are incompatible with the restaurant's operation. The venue has been a popular spot for celebrities, attracting notable figures such as Billy Joel, Chrissy Teigen, and Lady Gaga.

The family is reportedly exploring future relocation possibilities in areas like Calabasas or Pasadena, and plans for pop-up events are also being considered during the transition period. The restaurant is renowned for its top-secret garlic noodle recipe and a unique walkway featuring a koi fish aquarium.
