Costco to Discontinue Kirkland Signature Beers

Costco is ceasing production of its two Kirkland Signature brand beers, with remaining stock expected to be depleted within weeks. The Seattle-area based retailer had partnered with Deschutes Brewery to produce the Kirkland Signature Helles-Style Lager and Kirkland Signature Vintage Ale.

Deschutes Brewery confirmed in July that their partnership with Costco was concluding, citing the end of a volume commitment. "We’ve reached the end of our volume commitment and, therefore, the program is winding down," a statement from the brewery read. "We’ve been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for the beer from Costco members since the announcement."

The Kirkland Signature Helles-Style Lager, described as pale gold with a slightly sweet, lightly hopped, malty, and yeasty profile, was sold at approximately $13.99 per 12-pack. It received accolades at The World Beer Cup, earning a silver medal in 2025 and a bronze medal in 2026. The Kirkland Signature Vintage Ale was offered at $7.99 per bottle.

Costco's Kirkland Signature brand is a significant contributor to its overall sales. In its 2025 annual report, the company stated that Kirkland generated $90 billion in sales, representing one-third of its total reported sales of $269.9 billion.
