Cava to Open First Northern California Locations in 2025
The Mediterranean fast-casual chain plans multiple Bay Area openings starting next year.
Mediterranean fast-casual chain Cava will expand to Northern California for the first time next year, with its initial Bay Area location slated to open at Santana Row in San Jose. This expansion marks the culmination of years of anticipation from fans in the region.
Cava confirmed its first Northern California restaurant will open at 3055 Olin Avenue, Suite 1035, in San Jose. While specific details and opening dates for two additional locations closer to San Francisco have not yet been released, the company has confirmed plans for their eventual opening.
Cava, often compared to Chipotle for its customizable bowls and salads, offers a menu inspired by Mediterranean flavors. Popular items include the Harissa Avocado Bowl and Greek Chicken Pita, alongside a variety of signature dips. Customers can create their own meals or select from pre-designed favorites.
Each new Cava restaurant is projected to employ between 25 and 40 local workers. Since its first restaurant opened in 2011, Cava has grown to over 450 locations nationwide, including approximately 45 in California.
News of the expansion has generated excitement online, with social media users expressing enthusiasm for the chain's arrival in the Bay Area.
