Burger King President Critiques Chain's Own Chicken Nuggets
Tom Curtis says the fast-food giant 'can do better' with its chicken offerings and is working on improvements.
Burger King President Tom Curtis has identified the chain's chicken nuggets as a menu item in need of improvement, stating that the company "can do better, and we will." Curtis, speaking in an interview with the New York Post, expressed a desire for a "meatier, crispier nugget and sauces that make my taste buds dance."
The company has recently updated its chicken offerings, relaunching its signature crown-shaped nuggets for the first time since 2011. These nuggets are available in four, eight, or 16-piece orders and are also featured in a new kids' meal partnership with Crayola, which includes co-branded crayons.
Burger King also offers "Chicken Fries," a fry-shaped chicken snack that returned as a limited-time offer in 2014 after an initial discontinuation in the U.S. in 2012.
Despite these updates, Curtis indicated that further enhancements to the nugget product are underway.
Regarding his personal preferences, Curtis named the classic Whopper as his favorite order, praising its "flame-grilled taste." He noted that the Whopper itself has undergone recent improvements, including a more premium bun and updated mayonnaise, based on customer feedback. The upgraded Whopper is now served in a box rather than paper wrapping.
Burger King operates over 6,000 locations in the U.S. and remains one of the world's largest fast-food chains.
