A Bon Secours Mercy Health affiliate has agreed to acquire Surgery Partners in a deal valued at $5.7 billion, including debt. The transaction will take the operator of ambulatory surgery centers, surgical hospitals, and physician partnerships private.
Surgery Partners, which is backed by private equity firm Bain Capital, operates a network of facilities across the United States. The company provides a range of surgical services. The acquisition by the Bon Secours affiliate is expected to close in the second half of 2024, pending regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
