BlackMilk Clothing, a popular Australian fashion brand, has entered voluntary administration. The company announced the move after shifting its production offshore earlier this year.

In a statement posted on the brand's social media, co-owner Linda Lillis explained that the business had undergone significant changes to adapt to a "very different retail environment" in recent years. However, "the combination of a challenging consumer environment, rising costs and increasingly complex global trading conditions has continued to place pressure on the business," she stated.

Despite entering administration, Lillis confirmed that the brand's website will remain open and customer orders will continue to be fulfilled. In July, CEO Jackie Kruger had announced that the company would cease manufacturing at its Australian factory in Brisbane, with production understood to be moving to China.
