Barrecore and Boom Cycle Owner Abruptly Closes All Studios

The fitness company Common Bond, owner of popular London-based exercise studios Barrecore, Boom Cycle, and Kobox, has abruptly closed all of its locations. The company, which also operates the Reformcore and Triyoga brands, communicated the closures to customers via email, stating that all studios are shut "until further notice."

Customers received the notification on Wednesday, with the email offering apologies for the inconvenience and disruption caused by the sudden shutdown. The email also noted that the company is working through the situation and appreciates customers' patience.

Common Bond describes itself as a wellness collective and previously reported having ten sites. The company charged substantial fees, with one offering being £2,400 for 12 months of unlimited classes. The company's website is no longer accessible.

Instructors associated with the brands have reported being informed last week that their payments would be delayed. They learned about the studio closures through the same customer email. One instructor stated that she continued teaching classes in good faith after being told on August 14, the scheduled payday, that payment would be postponed, and had heard nothing further since.

BBC News has reached out to Common Bond for comment regarding the closures and the status of customer payments and memberships.
