Ballboy Kicked by Eden Hazard Sells Vodka Empire for $500 Million

Charlie Morgan, a former Swansea City ballboy infamously kicked by Chelsea legend Eden Hazard, is reportedly in line to sell his vodka empire, Au Vodka, for approximately $500 million. The potential sale comes 13 years after the incident that led to Hazard's red card in a 2013 League Cup match.

Morgan, now 30, co-founded Au Vodka with school friend Jackson Quinn in 2015. The brand has since grown significantly, selling over 35,000 bottles daily. According to reports, Morgan and Quinn are in negotiations with American beverage giant the Sazerac Company for a potential acquisition.

The company recently moved into new headquarters in Swansea, described as a "fully gold" office space, reflecting the brand's signature gold bottles. Morgan shared his pride in the company's expansion, detailing its growth from a small 250 sq ft office with a minimal team to a business employing 96 people.

Au Vodka has attracted endorsements from celebrities including former Brazilian football star Ronaldinho and retired American boxer Floyd Mayweather. The brand's commitment to its home city of Swansea has also been noted by fans.

Negotiations are understood to have been ongoing for several months, with an agreement reportedly nearing completion. Sazerac is said to be looking to expand its presence in the British market. Each founder is expected to receive around $100 million from the sale, and they may retain roles within the company.

The incident between Morgan and Hazard gained widespread attention, dividing public opinion. However, the two later reunited for a promotional campaign for Au Vodka, putting the past controversy behind them. Hazard posted photos on social media acknowledging Morgan's success, stating, "You have come a long way in 11 years my friend."
