Authentic Brands Group Acquires Care Bears Brand

Authentic Brands Group (ABG) has acquired the rights to the Care Bears brand, the company announced. The deal was made with IVEST Consumer Partners and Cloverlay, who had owned the toy brand since 2023.

Since acquiring the intellectual property, IVEST and Cloverlay focused on expanding the Care Bears' presence through licensing and royalty agreements. ABG, known for managing a portfolio of consumer brands, is expected to leverage its expertise to further develop and market the Care Bears.

The Care Bears, first introduced in the early 1980s, have remained a recognizable brand through various iterations including toys, television shows, and merchandise. The acquisition by ABG signals a continued strategy to grow established brands through comprehensive management and marketing initiatives.
